The credit card CVV number is an added security feature to help protect you against online fraud. It is a 3 or 4 digit number that appears on your credit or debit card, next to your regular number. Because the number is not embossed and therefore not printed on receipts, it helps to ensure that your credit information cannot be used without the credit card in hand.
Location of the CVV Number:
VISA, Master Card and Discover Card - the number is located to the right of the regular number on the back of the card.
American Express Card - the number is located on the front of the card in either the upper left or upper right side of the regular number.
